What's your best handgrip?
No.3 "Overlapping Grip"

An overlapping grip is formed by placing your little finger of the trailing hand on your index finger on the lead hand. It is also called 'Vardon Grip' , named after an English pro golfer Harry Vardon who invented this type of handgrip. Unlike other grips, this one separates your little finger of dominant hand completely from the grip, which is the key point to make it adaptable to the change of lies. For this reason, it seems easier to hit an approach shot using Overlapping compared with other grips such as Baseball or Interlocking that make your dominant hand and wrist too controllable or intertwined.
I also hear many comments from people who usually play in rough courses commonly seen in the Kansai region, saying that using an overlapping grip adjustable for uphill/downhill lies helps them make a better shot.
As well as these three grip styles, American pro player Jim Furyk's 'Double-Overlapping Grip ( laying your ring finger and little finger of the lead hand on the other hand) or Australian golfer Greg Norman's 'Intermesh Grip'( sandwiching your little finger of the lead hand in between the index and middle finger of the other hand) are also well recognized. I have heard of this story about an American golf player, Steve Jones, who injured his hand in a falling accident during a motocross race, won the U.S. open since he changed the grip style to Reverse Overlap Grip (A style commonly seen in putting that you stretch your left index) after the accident.
Your favorite grips will change as your swing shows some improvements, just like.
I myself started with Baseball Grip, shifting to Interlocking and ultimately, became comfortable with Overlapping.
I hope the change of grips will be key to improving your swing.
